Preserving wood-pastures

How do we preserve the wood-pastures in Romania?
Dietmar Gross from Viscri knows better than most people in Transylvania what can be achieved in his own village, in the community and by combining knowledge from practice and science. He and his village community demonstrate the natural connection between the village and the landscape: in addition to sustainable grazing, the management of their own wood-pasture also includes the rejuvenation and re-establishment of the typical oak trees, which began in 2023. The village with its grazing community thus creates new values, maintains them through management and thus generates local added value for the businesses in the village. This sustainable cultural landscape development is based on the social, economic and ecological values of the village community.
