Dietmar Gross from Deutsch-Weisskirch (Viscri) knows better than almost anyone else in Transylvania what can be achieved in his own village, in the community and by combining knowledge from practice and science. He and his village community demonstrate the natural link between village and land: the management of their own wood-pasture includes sustainable grazing as well as the rejuvenation and re-establishment of the typical oaks, which began in 2023. The village with its grazing community thus creates new values, maintains them through management and thus generates local added value for the farms in the village. This sustainable cultural landscape development is based on the social, economic and ecological values of the village community.
